Privacy, cookies and access
This page is the privacy and access notice for the Growth & Engagement Associate Training website. It is written in plain language for adult associates. Last updated 26 September 2026.
Who may use this site
This website is only for adult Growth & Engagement Associates who have been given an access code by Simple French with Hems Inc.
It is not for children. It is not for students. It is not for parents or guardians as end users. It is not a school student portal, not a children’s learning app, and not a place to store records about a learner.
You must be an adult (18 or older) acting as an associate. By signing in, you confirm that you are using the site for staff training, not as a child or student.
Children, students, and learner records
We do not collect, ask for, or store personal information about children, students, or learners through this site. That includes names, photos, videos, voice, dates of birth, health notes, attendance, behaviour notes, and parent or guardian contacts.
Do not type, upload, record, or paste a child’s or student’s information here. Do not upload children’s photos or videos. Learner tools and classroom records stay outside this portal. They are not submitted through this training site.
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16). It is not meant to collect personal information from children under US COPPA or similar Canadian child-privacy rules. If a child’s or student’s information is sent to us by mistake, we will delete it when we find it.
This site does not hold student education records. It is not a FERPA student-records system. Associate quiz results and an optional Day 9 video are staff training records, not a learner’s school file.
What we collect from adult associates, and why
We collect only what we need to run the training and confirm that an associate signed in and, if asked, submitted a Day 9 video:
- Your name
- That your position is Associate
- That you used a valid access code
- Quiz answers, so the training service can grade them, and the score saved in your browser on that device
- A short Day 9 video, if you choose to submit one, including an email address if you provide one
- Technical data needed to run the site, including that you are signed in for this visit
We use this to operate the course, check the access code, grade quizzes, and review a Day 9 video internally. Signing in and submitting a quiz or video is how you agree to that use.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use it to build a marketing list. We do not use associate videos to identify people by face or voice as a biometric system, and we do not sell biometric data.
What we do not collect
- Children’s or students’ personal information
- Payment cards or billing details on this site
- Health, religion, or other sensitive notes about a learner
- Precise location or GPS
- Advertising or profiling cookies
- Automated decisions that score you for credit, housing, or insurance
Cookies and browser storage
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not profile you for ads.
It uses essential browser storage so you stay signed in during the visit and so training progress and quiz scores can continue on that device. Session storage holds your name, access code, and session for this visit. Local storage holds progress such as completed days and quiz scores. That storage stays on your device until you clear it or the session ends.
The site loads the Poppins font from Google Fonts. Google may see a technical request from your browser when that font loads. The sign-in logo is loaded from Bunny.net.
Camera, microphone, and Day 9 video
The Day 9 video is optional until Simple French with Hems Inc. asks you to complete it. If you record, your browser will ask for camera and microphone permission. You can upload a file instead.
The recording is of an adult associate answering training questions. It is stored in Google Drive for internal review only. A row with your name, access code, and the file link is kept on the training spreadsheet. It is not posted publicly and is not used for advertising.
We do not extract a face print, voice print, or other biometric template from the video. We do not use the video to unlock a device or to identify you across other services.
Who can see the information, and transfers outside Canada
Simple French with Hems Inc. staff who run this training can see associate names, access codes, login records, and submitted videos.
Service providers who help us run the site may process technical or file data:
- Google (Apps Script, Sheets, Drive, and Fonts)
- Bunny.net, which delivers the sign-in logo
- The host of this website (for example Netlify)
Those providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States or other regions. They are not given children’s or learners’ classroom records. We do not sell your information to them for their own marketing.
How long we keep it, and security
We keep associate training records only as long as we need them to confirm that training was completed, or as long as a law or our records require. After that we delete or anonymize them when we can. Progress saved in your browser stays there until you clear the browser data.
Access to the site needs a code. Spreadsheet and Drive files are limited to people who run the training. No security is perfect. If we learn of a breach that creates a real risk of serious harm, we will follow applicable Canadian breach-notice rules.
Your rights
Adult associates whose information we hold can ask us, through support@simplefrenchwithhems.com, to:
- See what we hold about them
- Correct information that is wrong
- Withdraw consent for optional items, such as a Day 9 video that has not yet been required
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
We will not refuse a request because of race, disability, language, or any other ground listed in the equal-access section below. If we cannot delete something a law still needs (for example a completion or login record), we will say so.
If you are in California and our use of the site ever falls under California consumer privacy rules, we still do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context advertising. You can make the same access and deletion requests through the support address above.
Disability, blind users, and other access needs
We do not discriminate against adult associates because they are blind, have low vision, are Deaf or hard of hearing, use a wheelchair, have a learning disability, use a screen reader, use captions, use a keyboard only, or have any other disability.
We want this training to be usable with assistive technology. Pages are marked as English. Form fields have labels. We will keep improving this.
This page is not a claim that the site has passed a formal audit under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the Accessible Canada Act, the US Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or WCAG. If any part of the site blocks you, contact support@simplefrenchwithhems.com. We will offer another way to complete the training where we reasonably can (for example extra time, a different format, or a supported session).
Equal access and non-discrimination
Access to this adult associate training is not limited by race, colour, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family status, age (as an adult worker), disability, genetic characteristics, or a pardoned conviction, or by other grounds protected under the Canadian Human Rights Act, applicable provincial human rights laws, or US civil-rights and disability laws that apply to us.
French learning described in the course is for learners of Simple French with Hems Inc. Those learners are not users of this website. This website is only for the adult associates who complete the training.
Language
This training site is currently provided in English. If you need a French copy of this notice or another way to complete the training, ask through support@simplefrenchwithhems.com.
Changes to this page
If we change how we collect or use personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
